Film & TV Tapes

Here are a selection of scenes from films & television that I have recorded in a self tape style.

I spent two or three days on each tape to reflect a realistic self tape time period.

In this scene: Mia makes the difficult step to reach out to her younger sister for help and expresses to her how she is really feeling.

Mia was groomed into a relationship with an older man at the age of 16. Thinking herself in love, she allowed herself to be manipulated into shunning her friends & family and giving up all her dreams & career ambitions. After being abruptly jilted 8 years later, the reality of how naive she was sets in and she finds herself alone in the world at 23 with no qualifications or work experience. She battles with depression while trying to make her start in the world from a very disadvantaged position. She finally makes the difficult step to reach out to someone from her past while suffocating under the crushing realisation that she has wasted her life.

In this scene: Alicent confronts Rhaenyra about her thoughtless and reckless activities of the night before.

Rhaenyra and her uncle, Daemon sneak out to explore King's Landing, drinking and visiting a brothel. Daemon seduces a willing Rhaenyra, but unable to consummate their affair, he abandons her there. Returning to the Red Keep, Rhaenyra entices Ser Criston into having sex. Informed by his spy, Ser Otto tells the king about Daemon and Rhaenyra's carousing. Alicent overhears them and privately questions Rhaenyra, who denies having sex with Daemon.

In this scene: Rue lashes out on Jules for being a bad friend and exposing her drug habit to her mum, which leaves her in a very desperate state.

Rue is a recovering drug addict and high school student. Rue’s mum has just told her that she has found her suitcase full of 10k’s worth of drugs and flushed them all down the toilet. Rue is beside herself with anger and explosively wrecks the house and screams insults at her mum and younger sister. Off the back of this, she finds out it was her best friend, Jules that snitched on her. She goes downstairs to confront her only to find that her other friend, Elliot betrayed her too.

In this scene: Alice questions Dan about his cheating on her, then caves in and begs him to stay.

The relationship between two couples starts to crumble after the man from one of the couples engages in an affair with the woman of the other. Dan has informed Alice that he has been cheating on her for the past year of their relationship. Alice tries to be strong and move on, but she isn’t used to being alone and doesn’t know what she would do without him.

In this scene: Juno tells her dad that she’s pregnant.

Juno navigates life at school as a pregnant teenager and works out what her relationship is to Paulie, the father.

In this scene: Dido tells Elizabeth of James' true character. However, Elizabeth believes Dido to be lying to her.

Lord and Lady Mansfield raise Dido as a free gentlewoman despite her colouring with their other great-niece Lady Elizabeth Murray, whose widowed father disowned Elizabeth. Dido is steered into an engagement with Oliver Ashford; younger brother to bigoted James Ashford. At first, James is interested in Elizabeth but stops courting her once he discovers she will have no inheritance. Oliver, who is without fortune, proposes to Dido and she accepts. James takes Dido aside and tells her that she will disgrace his family's name, then insults and gropes her. Elizabeth is still smitten with James, so Dido attempts to tell her about his true nature, but to no avail.

In this scene: Liam confronts Ffion about her relationship with Jonas.

Liam arrives at a dinner party where he finds his wife, Ffion laughing with Jonas. Throughout the dinner, Liam scrutinises Ffion's reactions to Jonas, whose engagement recently ended. Later that evening, Liam questions Ffion about Jonas. She identifies him as a brief paramour that she’s previously mentioned. She says they dated for a month, but Liam remembers she previously said they dated for a week. The discussion becomes heated and results in Liam calling Ffion a bitch.

In this scene: Lily learns of Amanda’s unspecified mental disorder that results in her inability to feel emotions.

Upper-class high schooler Amanda euthanizes her crippled horse with a knife, resulting in charges of animal cruelty. Sometime later, Amanda arrives at the home of the more popular and academically inclined Lily. The girls were previously best friends but grew apart after the death of Lily's father. They meet under the pretense of hanging out and having a casual tutoring session, but Amanda knows that her mother has paid Lily to socialise with Amanda. Lily denies being paid, but Amanda, who does not experience emotions due to an unspecified mental disorder, is unfazed. Lily meets with Amanda again, this time voluntarily, and they rekindle their friendship.

In this monologue: Intellectually disabled Rey is telling the hostile Eric a story of his childhood growing up on a farm.

When thieves steal his car -- and only remaining possession -- they leave behind Rey, a wounded comrade.
